PETITION- Scrap the Licence Fee!

The Licence Fee is a tax, It is a tax that we pay on already taxed income and amounts to £154.50 per annum. The BBC pays salaries in millions to people of limited talent. It affords Gary Lineker the privilege of attacking Brexit voters as 'racist' and uneducated. The pro- Remain bias is sickening and it was crystalised with Andrew Marr's shocking questions of Nigel Farage. Gerard Batten of UKIP has also been attacked by smears and so have many more.

As a non-party movement for change Unity says enough is enough, scrap the licence tax and if people want to pay for the BBC they can subscribe! We will be writing to the Director General Tony Hall with this petition.

The salaries paid to presenters and others is an absolute scandal. We dont even need presenters for Wimbledon broadcasts, football etc. We have a grandstand view, and then these dreadful commentators burbling in our ear about their ridiculous comments. I turn the sound off, but miss the thunk of the ball and the score by the umpire, at least that is on screen. If I went to Wimbledon and had someone continually talking to me about what is happening how stupid would that be.

It is the most unjust tax in this country and they are stopping free licences so they can continue to pay grossly inflated salaries to the likes of Gary Lineker and Graham Norton

It’s the only life line for some people

The don’t see anyone for days & wouldn’t be able to pay for a licence. Thus them not have a tv the money u pay some of the stars is rediculas drop some of there salaries & that would make up for there licences. Come on BBC have some heart & give the people there licence

The major part of the BBC output is entertainment. While much of this is good, why am I forced by law to pay for EastEnders, Pointless, Strictly come Dancing, Radio 1 etc. The BBC should move to a commercial / subscription financial structure and compete for viewers/listeners like the all the other broadcasters.

This yearly charge is a disgrace for it’s greediness , especially from people who live on limited incomes . Year by year we have watched it get bigger and bigger, but OUR money is not growing to match . Stop this enforced charge , let the BBC compete in their own market – that’s fair , this charge is not. If the BBC is as good as they keep telling us they will be fine !

If they can afford to pay enormous saleries approaching £2 for a mediocre football presenter plus all the other jobworthies employed in strange job titles they can afford free licences for over 75s. Better still scrap the licence all together and let BBC compete with other broadcasters and see what they can afford to pay then. Don’t hold your breath.

the TV licence should be scraped as the BBC is out of touch people are fed up with paying to watch rubbish and why should we have to pay to watch ITV time for the BBC to go private and not be funded by the public
