Prince William and Kate have announced the name of their new child through the Kensington Palace twitter account. The announcement read: “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to announce that they have named their son Louis Arthur Charles. “The baby will be known as His Royal Highness Prince Louis of Cambridge.”
However in scandalous comments the ITV political journalist wrote: “‘Louis Arthur Charles’. I know about the Mountbatten and royal connections. But these are so of-the-moment, London bubble names. Let's be clear, they are basically Remainer names.”
This was immediately met with outrage from others on twitter with comments like: "Sometimes you do talk drivel Robert. Cannot someone name their child in peace without it being dragged into some kind of political connotation?"
Another said: “Really Robert, this is quite possibly the most 'strange' response to the naming of a child I have yet to see! I thought that you are meant to be a serious political commentator…?”
Peston has been accused numerous times of being an establishment, metropolitan remain fanatic and that he shouldn't be allowed such a prominent place to spout his biased drivel!
