An Open Letter to Anna Soubry & The Remain Establishment

Dear Anna,

Firstly we would like to say we write this letter in the spirit of good faith, openness and tolerance of opinions. We at UK Unity are a grassroots movement with over 35,000 supporters representing people from all walks of life, backgrounds, races, nationalities & sexualities. The one thing we all have in common is that on the 23rd of June we proudly voted to leave the European Union in the largest electoral mandate the UK has ever witnessed.

Both during the referendum and even more so since there has been a drive to demonise us leave voters as poorly educated, unsure of the facts and xenophobic. In the last few weeks both you and others have gone one step further in somehow insinuating that Brexit voters are 'far-right'. For the purposes of clarity we do not think you are a Nazi but what we do feel is that you are able to freely use inappropriate words to engage in a campaign of guilt by association of Brexit voters whilst not being prepared to accept criticism yourself.

Wanting to control immigration and cut immigration is a platform that you were elected on as a Conservative Party MP. Likewise you were also elected on a party manifesto that clearly stated it would implement the will of the people with regards exiting the EU. On the same day that you were met outside Parliament Owen Jones was also videoed issuing slurs. The term 'Gammon' which is a racially charged term and is grossly offensive is used greatly by those on the remain side and we ask why is this tolerated?

We the undersigned are asking 3 things of you and the remain campaign in general:

1- Tone down your own language and rhetoric before seeking to smear others

2- Respect the fact that you were elected on a manifesto pledge to Leave the European Union

3- Accept the fact the Referendum of 2016 was a once in a lifetime opportunity and the result stands

If you are unable to do so we the undersigned would politely suggest that you should resign as both a member of the Conservative Party and Member of Parliament for Broxtowe.

As a former Conservative M.P., I am disgusted by the low level to which politics has sunk in the House of Commons since the referendum. It seems to be far worse and more unprincipled and dishonest than at any time in recent history. People like you make me ashamed to be associated with the Conservative Party.

I totally agree with your letter. Constantly that Anna Soubery in the commons has called brexiteers fascists .fat right racists since we voted for brexit ,and the reason people are angry is because of people like her and trying to mak3 us sound unintelligent. I probably know more about politics than her .i know it’s a pathetic courtroom of shouting banshees ,including beer row,the6 are the racist fascists undemocratic morons and believe me ,let them keep, messing with the British and civil war will be the most positive outcome I will guarantee that ,something those dumbis in Parliament can’t guarantee .They are doom and gloom and do t want us t9 do well they just want to stay in a protectionist corrupt club of cheats .liars and over paid scroungers amen

Quote from Anna Soubry back in 2011:

“I believe the EU has become a huge, overly costly, bureaucratic organisation fundamentally lacking in both democracy and accountability to the many millions of people who pay for it through their taxes and who are bound to live by its rules.”

You were dead right then, Anna. In the 7 years since, the EU has not changed (if anything it has got worse), so why have you drifted so far from this stance? WE the people have NOT changed our view, and this was made clear on 23rd June 2016. You need to get with the programme, Anna, or else get off the gravy train and retire.

You, in the safety of Westminster and TV Studios, have insulted many decent people in this country. When you are confronted outside of your safe environment you start crying to the Police. This led to the arrest of an innocent man who was exercising his democratic right. https://youtu.be/2EH53-WLdf8 I don’t like this man EITHER, but if what James Goddard did was unlawful, Why hasn’t McDonnell been arrested for incitement?

You and your kind are trying to kill democracy. Shame on you, history will judge this whole sorry episode as the second dark age. The referendum asked in our out, not in our out dependent on a deal or the hypocrisy of the politically correct class.

I have spent my life educating children to achieve the best that they can. I believe in people. I volunteer at a local school (I am a retired teacher) to help children to improve their reading (which is key to being a useful and fulfilled citizen. The people spoke. I am tired of being classified as ignorant. I remember rationing, my husband was an evacuee during the war. We are not frightened of standing on our own. We ARE frightened of being subsumed into an EU superstate and losing our culture and identity. Accept the result of the referendum, please. We voted to Leave all of the European institutions out of knowledge, not ignorance. We both speak fluent French, can manage in German and lived very happily, in France for over 15 years. We know and love our French friends and neighbours. The EU is not for us and Britain, however, we do not think like them. Please stop and draw breath – you are so wrong. Thank you for reading this.
